SPORTS

Yesterday the Yucca Valley swim team had its first home meet of the season, swimming against the Shadow Hills Knights. Shadow Hills has a large team and initially pulled ahead of the boys' team by 27 points, due to some uncharacteristic errors committed by the boys' team. But they locked in and started swimming like they normally do, needing to take 1st and 2nd place in the final relay of the day. Both relay teams pulled ahead, securing a come-from- behind win, 84-82, keeping their 5-year undefeated streak alive. The girls team meant business from the start. The girls took both 1st and 2nd in every race of the day and completely dominated from start to finish with a win of 117-37. Both teams are 5-0 on the season. Trojan swimmers have another league home meet next Thursday against Indio.
