Morongo Unified School District proudly announces that all 16 of its schools have been recognized for their outstanding implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports during the 2024–25 school year. Fourteen of these schools earned Platinum recognition, the highest level of distinction.
PBIS is a nationally recognized framework designed to promote positive school climates, equitable practices and improved student outcomes. This recognition underscores the dedication of MUSD’s MTSS coordinators, site administrators and support staff who work tirelessly to ensure that every student thrives academically, socially and emotionally, said Dr. Nick Milosavljevic, MUSD Director of Instructional Programs and Support.
Black Rock High School, Condor Elementary School, Friendly Hills Elementary School, Joshua Tree Elementary School, Landers Elementary School, La Contenta Middle School, Morongo Valley Elementary School, Oasis Elementary School, Onaga Elementary School, Palm Vista Elementary School, Twentynine Palms Elementary School, Yucca Valley Elementary School, Yucca Mesa Elementary School and Yucca Valley High School all earned Platinum recognition. Twentynine Palms High School received Gold recognition, and Twentynine Palms Junior High School received Silver recognition.
These schools were formally honored on November 13 at the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools’ 10th Annual PBIS Showcase.
“This achievement speaks to the heart of who we are as a district,” said Superintendent Dr. Patricio Vargas. “To have all 16 of our schools recognized—and to have the vast majority earn Platinum—shows the depth of our commitment to creating supportive, engaging and equitable learning environments.”
“We are incredibly proud of our educators, staff, students and families whose dedication makes this success possible,” Vargas added.
